U.S. Army Intelligence Analyst Arrested for Leaking Classified Info
Editor's summary:
Iraq — A U.S. Army intelligence analyst working in Iraq has been arrested for allegedly leaking classified information to the whistle blowing website Wikileaks.org. Among the material the suspect, SPC Bradley Manning, 22, of Potomac, MD, is accused of divulging is the classified and highly encrypted video showing the 2007 incident in which a U.S. Apache helicopter fires on a group of people in Baghdad, killing two Reuters staffers.
Manning was arrested late last month after a former computer hacker turned him in to authorities.
Check out this Wired.com Threat Level post about Manning and what he is suspected of doing. According to Threat Level, another thing Manning bragged he turned over to Wikileaks were 260,000 classified embassy dispatches.
