HTC Android Cell Phone Comes with Pre-Installed Malware
Editor's summary:
Panda Security discovered three malware programs on a Vodafone HTC Magic cell phone running Google's Android OS that was recently purchased by an employee.
The three malicious items are the now-defunct Mariposa bot, the Confiker worm and a program that steals passwords for the Lineage game.
From IDG News:
"The malware programs were on the phone's 8GB microSD memory card, which mounts as an external drive when plugged into a PC, said [Pedro] Bustamante, [Panda's senior research adviser]."
