September 19, 2008 — PlanetData — The Security News Network™ announces it has added individual News Maps for all eight sections of its website. With these maps, PlanetData plots security-related news and information on a daily basis to give readers a visual representation of where world-shaping events are taking place within specific areas of interest. This tool uses Google Maps API, which provides features such as satellite views and the ability to zoom in and out.
In addition, PlanetData has updated the Counterterrorism Solutions Center Map, and continues to offer the original World News Map for a summary view of security-related happenings from across all PlanetData sections. With the World News Map readers can customize the information they view using a variety of parameters including timeframe and topic.
